Yoga & Pilates

Vicki Otto has been teaching Yoga and Pilates in the Marysville, Arlington and Lake Stevens, Washington areas since 2002. Her  Yoga class combines various styles of yoga.

Class begins with breath work.  For mind/body exercise to be most effective it is necessary to clear the mind so that students can focus on their bodies and not be distracted by thought.  Breath work is the perfect way to get the mind prepared.
 
After breath work, the body is warmed up by moving the spine through various ranges of motion.  Standing and seated Yoga poses (Asanas) are performed starting with basic movements and gradually increasing in challenge.

Class ends with five minutes of final relaxation or Savasana.  This time provides students an opportunity to unwind, calm and revitalize the body and mind.
 
This class does not require students to be super flexible or have years of Yoga and Pilates experience.  If you aren’t able to do a pose, modifications are always available.
